Time
The Best Time to come in and rent would typically be around 10am-12pm (noon).
During this time it is not as busy and usually less windy.
We Suggest a Two-Hour Rental, Minimum.
This is to ensure enough time to really enjoy your ride.
With a Two-Hour Booking we normally find customers use the First Hour to Learn their Surroundings and the Machine. Then the Next Hour can be all about safe, fun!
Customers Occasionally report wishing they had booked more time when booking only Two-Hours.
Booking Options range from 1-72 Hours to Accommodate level of rider.
General
ATV:
An ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) is a SINGLE Rider Only Vehicle. The ATV's we Rent out are Quads (4-wheelers).
UTV:
A UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) tends to be bigger to accommodate 2-5 Passengers and allows for "side-by-side" riding, which is why some simply call it a "side by side" or "SXS" for short.
On Average:
- For Beginner or First Time Teen-Adult Riders We recommend you try our Wolverine 450 4X4 because they are very fun and have the perfect amount of power.
- For Family Excursions we often suggest a Honda Pioneer, but it could depend on how many people you have and what you want to do.
When You Stop to Stretch or Take in the sights you may see:
- Stunning Wildlife like Bald Eagles (which are often sighted above Banshee Hill).
- The Beautiful Coastline and what looks like endless sand dunes shaped and molded vastly by the wind & plantlife growing there.
One customer wore their Apple fit-bit during a two hour ride and told us their activity level was recorded as a light bicycle ride.
Each rider and ride is different. How you ride and what you do will play a large role in how strenuous the ride will be on your body.
Take things Slow to start, get Comfortable and Always be Smart & Safe while on the Dunes.
In Short, they Can Be!
TIPS to SAFELY Enjoy the Dunes:
- Stay Alert - Dunes change daily due to wind and traffic. What was safe yesterday might be different today.
- Ride with a Buddy - Never ride alone. Keep at least 2 car lengths distance between vehicles.
- Never Go Straight Up a Dune - If you can't see what's on the other side, don't risk it. There could be drop-offs, witch's eyes, or oncoming riders.
- Wear Safety Gear - Helmets and goggles are INCLUDED in your rental and required by law.
- Use Proper Eyewear - Tinted goggles for midday riding help with depth perception.
⚠️ Important Note:
Cell reception can be spotty or non-existent on the dunes. We recommend staying with your group and following all safety guidelines.
